Traditional Glassing Methods in Karaj
Glass Footing: This is one of the oldest methods of glass -making in which the artist uses warm air into the molten glass using a metal tube. This method requires high skill and experience, and the artist should be able to customize the glass by accurately controlling the amount of air and heat. Mold Glass: In this method, the molten glass is poured into pre -made molds and takes the shape of the mold. This method is suitable for mass production of similar parts, but still requires accuracy and skill in temperature and time control. Press glass: In this method, the molten glass is placed between the two molds and by applying pressure, it takes the shape of the mold. This method is suitable for producing pieces with smooth and uniform surface.
Modern Glass Traditions in Karaj
Lampworking: In this method, the artist heat directly to the glass using thermal burners. This technique enables precise and sophisticated detail and is very suitable for making delicate sculptures and decorative bubbles. Fusing: In this way, different parts of the glass are put together and heated in the furnace to stick together. This technique allows for the creation of a variety of designs and roles. Casting: In this method, the molten glass is poured into the complex molds and, after cooling, takes the shape of the mold. This technique is suitable for making large and complex sculptures.
